Mothers

Real Mothers know that a child's growth is not measured by height or years or grade....It is marked by the progression of Mama to Mommy to Mom..

I love this quote because it sums up all three of my kids. Emily calls me Mom, Trent, Mommy and Jacob, Mama. Everytime Trent calls me mommy my heart melts. I know it won't be long before he switches to just "mom."

Happy Mother's Day to our moms--we love you! We had great Mother's Day weekend. Ryan spoke in church and did a great job. He had lots of nice things to say about his mom. We also celebrated Ryan's birthday this weekend with a little family party and went out to dinner at Bubba Gumps.

My family back home also had quite the Mother's Day surprise. My dad and brother Jeff were in Salt Lake City with various relatives taking my grandma out to Sunday brunch, and guess who sits down at the table next to them? Ashley Tisdale, Zak Efron and Vanessa Hudgens and their parents, also there for the Mother's Day Brunch! What are the odds? My little cousins even got their autographs. They are in SLC right now filming High School Musical 3.

And...speaking of mothers, I have a friend who just had a baby last week here in Tokyo. Go here to read her crazy story about giving birth in Japan. Having a baby is hard enough, but to give birth in another country, where you can't understand what your nurses are saying is a brave thing!!

I love that quote! You guys are in Japan! That is so great! I would love to go there sometime. Robert gave me your blog address. We haven't heard from you guys sense our BYU 62nd ward days. The Palmers and Christensens were over at our place a few weeks back remembering the "good old days". Your family has grown a ton. So fun to read about how you are doing. You look great! Keep in touch!
