Japanese sports day

2 weeks ago Jacob's preschool had Undokai, which is a sports day. It's a huge event in Japan every October. The kids divide into 2 teams, the white and red. and then do individual and group games/relays, with a few dances and a pom pom performance as well. It's a family event. they had games for moms, dads and grandparents. the few foreign kids at Jake's school all wished we had grandparents that lived closer. The main difference I noticed between this and a field day back in the United States was that here, there were a lot of props and decorations. instead of pick up the baton or ball, they had flowers/fans/ etc. here are all our pics from the day. Jake was on the white team.
