Yesterday, Ryan and Trent hiked Fuji with the boy scouts. The age limit was 10 and up, with the knowledge that on average, only boys, ages 16 and up will be able to make it to the top. But because we are moving and this was Trent's only chance to hike it, they let him go. (Trent is 8) They hiked with our friends, the Jensens, Nate and sons, Isaac (Trent's really good friend) and Noah. and amazingly, they made it to the second 8th station, which is the last station, about 45 minutes from the top. totally awesome. Trent was a little sad he didn't make it to the top, but he was just too tired and they ran out of time. scout rules that at 2 pm, you have to start back down the mountain. But making it that far is such an accomplishment. and he had a lot of fun. and Isaac, went on with his dad to make it to the top. Noah, stayed with Trent and Ryan.
Here they are, getting ready to start. they left Tokyo 4 am and started hiking at 7 am. spent about 10 hours on the mountain. got back down around 5 pm.

up above the clouds!

So awesome that he got to experience it! What a great memory for him to take away from Japan. Any word on where you are moving yet? Colorado Springs is really nice :).
